Chord Hugo Portable DAC/
Coaxial input
Connect a coaxial digital signal to the yellow phono socket. Select coaxial input
indicated by the red light source.
Optical Input
Connect an optical digital signal to the TOSLink socket. Select optical input
indicated by the green light source.
USB SD Input
The standard definition (SD) USB input allows for music playback up to 16-bit 48Khz.
This entry does not require any drivers and will be compatible with almost all phones
cell phones/tablets and other USB-connected power supply components. (Units
USB and USB memory sticks/cards are not supported).
Using a USB OTG cable (on the go) or the AppleTM Camera Connection Kit, Hugo can
be connected directly to a phone or tablet.
Select the USB SD input indicated by the yellow source light.
USB HD Input
The high definition (HD) USB input is the highest quality digital playback method. It is
input is asynchronous and uses Hugo's own high-precision clock circuit. this entry
It will support 384Khz PCM/DXD and also DSD64 and DSD128 in DoP format. They are not
drivers are required for AppleTM and AndroidTM devices, but for Mirosoft WindowsTM you must first
load the drivers on the supplied CD or download them from our website.

Select the USB HD input indicated by the white light source.
Headphones
Up to three sets of headphones can be connected at the same time to share the
listening experience. There is one larger 6.35mm socket and two smaller 3.5mm sockets
. The high current output stage will work with headphone impedances as low as
4 ohms or up to several hundred ohms, so no restrictions on type
or choice of headset.
Loading
Connect the supplied power adapter to charge Hugo. The bright white charge light.
When there is no more power, the light will flash red and the output will be muted.

frequency lights
sample rate Each digital sample frequency received will cause Hugo to light up different colors
to indicate correct operation. The sequence is as follows:-
Red – 44 KHz, Orange – 48 KHz, Yellow – 88 KHz, Green – 96 KHz, Light Blue – 176 KHz,
Dark Blue – 192 KHz, Light Purple – 352 KHz(DXD), Purple – 384 KHz(DXD).
White indicates DSD operation on DSD64 or DSD128.
